Venus' Looking Glass consists of small, upright stems topped with purple star-shaped flower. It is an annual that will complete its life cycle in one year but will re-seed if it likes its location. It prefers well-drained, sandy or loamy soil and does well from open woods to disturbed fields and roadsides. The flowers attract bees, birds, and butterflies. Some accounts say it does well when cut or mowed and will bloom even if only a few inches tall.
