Species details:
Downy Serviceberry, or Juneberry, is graceful native tree or large shrub that brightens the landscape year-round. In early spring, it bursts into clouds of white, star-shaped blooms before most trees have leafed out. By early summer, those flowers give way to small, edible berries that ripen to a deep blue and are a favorite of songbirds and other wildlife. Its finely textured green foliage turns brilliant shades of orange and red in fall, providing a striking seasonal display. It supports pollinators in spring, birds and mammals through summer and fall, and adds visual interest in every season.
