Brown-eyed Susan
Brown-eyed Susan
Rudbeckia triloba
A cheerful, fast-growing short-lived perennial known for its clouds of small, golden-yellow flowers with deep brown centers. Blooming from mid-summer into fall, this plant brings long-lasting color and a light, meadow-like feel to gardens and landscapes.
Unlike larger black-eyed Susans, Rudbeckia triloba produces many smaller blooms on branching stems, creating a soft, airy display that pairs beautifully with ornamental grasses and other late-season perennials. It thrives in full sun and adapts well to a variety of soil types once established.
It self seeds and may overwhelm smaller landscapes.
