    Common Blue Violet, pink form

    Viola sororia f. rubra

Add a rare splash of rosy color to your woodland garden with Viola sororia f. rubra, a naturally occurring pink to rose-red form of the beloved native Common Blue Violet. Blooming in early to mid-spring, its cheerful flowers rise above lush, heart-shaped green foliage.

Like the traditional blue form, this hardy perennial spreads gradually by seed and short rhizomes to form an attractive, low-growing groundcover. It thrives in moist, well-drained soils in partial shade but is adaptable to a range of garden conditions, including morning sun. An important native plant, it provides early-season nectar for pollinators and serves as a larval host for several fritillary butterfly species.
