Curly-styled Wood Sedge, or Rosy Sedge, is a petite, low-maintenance sedge perfect for dry, shady spots or as a groundcover. This cool-season perennial forms 1-foot mounds of fine, semi-evergreen, deep green foliage, topped with star-like seed clusters in late spring.

Carex rosea’s fibrous, short-rhizomatous root system helps it retain its tidy, mounded form over time. Its delicate structure and resilience make it an excellent choice for woodland margins, lowlands, and clearings, as a textural accent among wildflowers, or even as a lawn substitute in shaded landscapes.
