Sprig Native Plant Nursery
Large-flowered Beardtongue
Large-flowered Beardtongue
Penstemon grandiflorus
Large-flowered Beardtongue is a striking garden addition that thrives in dry, well-drained soil but does not tolerate clay. In late spring, it produces large, tubular pink to lavender flowers for a brief but showy bloom lasting 2–3 weeks.
Its silvery-blue foliage and upright form add structure to native gardens and dry landscapes. Loved by bumblebees, mason bees, and hummingbirds, it also supports checkerspot butterfly species as a host plant.
