A beautiful grass that is a rich blue green color in the summer and a brownish red color in the winter. The fluffy seed heads add interesting winter interest and provide a food source for overwintering birds. An excellent grass to add for wildlife. Host plant for several species of Skipper butterfly caterpillars. Queen bumblebees nest at the base of bunch grasses like Little Bluestem.
