Sprig Native Plant Nursery
Small Yellow Wild Indigo
Small Yellow Wild Indigo
Baptisia tinctoria
Small Yellow Wild Indigo is a shrubby, mounded plant that produces yellow pea-like flowers. After blooming it produces small, balloon-like seed pods that turn black when ripe and add interesting color and texture to a fall/winter garden. Small Yellow Wild Indigo is a legume that will fix nitrogen in the soil, making it more available for other plants. It is a host plant for the Wild Indigo Duskywing skipper and the Clouded Sulphur butterfly.
