    Tall Bellflower

    Tall Bellflower

    Campanula americana

Tall Bellflower is a graceful native wildflower valued for its long-lasting display of lavender-blue, star-shaped blooms from midsummer into fall. Reaching 3–5 feet tall, it attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators while thriving in partial shade to full sun. This adaptable self-seeding plant may grow as an annual or biennial depending on germination timing, forming low rosettes of heart-shaped leaves in its first season before sending up tall flowering stems the next year.

This species is native to Wisconsin and not to be confused with Creeping bellflower (Campanula rapunculoides) a highly invasive species present in our area.
