Willow Aster

Symphyotrichum praealtum

Willow Aster, named for its slender, willow-like leaves, provides beautiful fall color. Its blue-violet flowers, featuring yellow disk florets surrounded by lavender ray petals, cluster at the tops of stems, creating a striking display. This aster is a vital late-season nectar source for migrating monarchs and other pollinators. Similar in size to New England Aster but more aggressive, spreading by rhizome.
